The Whittier PTA sponsors a monthly art appreciation, education, and discussion for second through fifth graders. Students learn about Picasso, Rembrandt, Renoir, and more!
This year students will be studying the following artists and their master works:
October: Toulouse Lautrec, Maulin Rouge-La Goulue
November: Caillebotte, Paris Street on a Rainy Day
December: Andy Warhol, Campbell’s Soup
January: Michaelangelo, The Sistine Chapel
February: Salvador Dali, The Persistence of Time
March: Cassatt, Woman in Yellow Dress Reading
April: Degas, The Star
May: Chagall, The Circus Rider
It’s fun and exciting to teach and learn about these historically famous artists and their paintings. If you’re interested in facilitating a discussion (no expertise necessary), please contact Kristi Maher, firstname.lastname@example.org.
