McTeacher Night 2017 is here!  Please join some of your favorite Whittier teachers and friends on Tomorrow, April 5th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McDonald’s on Ogden (east of Fairview).
Have dinner and/or dessert (in the restaurant or via drive-thru) and a portion of the proceeds will go back to Whittier’s PTA.  No flyer needed to attend, so please spread the word to your friends and family beyond Whittier too!
There will also be a raffle for free McDonald’s meals, so you may want to bring some $1 or $5 bills with you.  100% of the raffle proceeds will go back to the PTA.

4. Walking Club Volunteer Request

Walking club starts back up again next week! We need volunteers, especially for NEXT WEDNESDAY! Volunteers arrive at 11:30, sign in at the front office, and pick up a guest sticker to wear. Instructions, grade assignments, door location, and “Cat Cash” to distribute to walkers are given out in the front hallway. You will be done at 12:20. Please use this link to sign up – we can’t do this without your help!

5. Book Fair Volunteer Request

Bookfair is coming soon and we’re looking for your help to sell books! We’re holding the Spring Bookfair around/during Whittier’s Spring Open House — April 25, 26 and 27.  Please consider volunteering an hour of your time! CLICK HERE to sign up online.

6. Learning Lab Donation Request

The Learning Lab is once again collecting empty toilet paper and paper towel tubes for our upcoming EXPLORE classes!  The collection box will be available through the month of April in the front vestibule. Thank you for taking the time to save these items!

7. Primary Playground

The window for personal and corporate donations toward the playground is open if anyone is interested in being a sponsor for the playground and having their name recognized on the plaque that will be mounted in the Jaguar Jungle.  All donations over $250 earn a space on the plaque, a mention on the PTA Facebook page and PTA Website.  All sponsorships are tax deductible and a letter and thank you card from the students will be sent.  Donations can be made on the website link (see below) or by check made payable to Whittier PTA with a note in the memo section saying “playground donation”.  Any funds raised that are over the cost of the playground will be returned to the PTA to fund the PTA budget and shore up the reserves.

8. DGJWC Handmade Market

The Downers Grove Junior Woman’s Club is hosting a Handmade Market (craft show) being held at O’Neill Middle School on Saturday, April 29 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.  The DGJWC uses funds raised to support various philanthropic initiatives including scholarships for Downers Grove students!
