1. Family FUNdraiser @ The Baked Apple
In memory of Martin Luther King, Jr., District 58 students have the day off this coming Monday, January 15th. Plan to spend a bit of the day off at Baked Apple Restaurant for breakfast or lunch (pajamas welcome!), and a portion of the proceeds will go back to Whittier’s PTA.
See flyer for the specifics. No documentation needed for this FAMILY FUNdraiser though. All sales between 6:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. that day count, so grab a few friends or family members to join you!
2. Variety Show Playbill
RISE UP! Calling all Whittier Supporters! We have a few additional ways you can support the school AND support your child at the Variety Show on 2/3 via Playbill Ads and “Break-a-leg” messages.
“Break-a-leg” message – $5 Parents, Grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, etc. Tell your kid(s) how proud you are! 35 word limit. Each additional 10 words (or portion) is $1 extra.
“Break-a-leg” message – $1 Student to student. Send a message of good cheer to your friends. 35 word limit. Each additional 10 words (or portion) is $1 extra.
Payment must accompany this reservation. Cash or checks payable to Whittier PTA. Return to the Variety Show Committee – NO LATER THAN 1/24. The proceeds from these ads and messages will be used to offset the cost of printing the show playbill. Thank you for your support!
3. Fun Lunch
The window for ordering will close today, January 9, 2018!

We have included new vendors this go-around and hope that you will be pleased with the variety. Don’t miss out on this wonderful opportunity to participate.
4. Spring Fundraiser – Volunteers for Experiences Needed!
We are currently looking for volunteers to host experiences for the spring fundraiser. Our spring fundraiser is on February 9, 2018 so we are getting started earlier this year. Some past ideas include themed adult parties, amazing race for adults, BAGS tournament for adults, Euchre, father/daughter, mother/son, painting, baking, kickball, volleyball, spa parties, tea parties, running clubs, etc. Some new ideas discussed recently on the Whittier PTA Facebook page include, lacrosse, bingo, dodgeball, bike safety, line dance/dancing, art based ideas, and scavenger hunts.
We welcome experiences designated for primary and intermediate that include parent and child. Kid friendly experiences are always very popular. Please contact Carla Giannelli, Michelle Rafacz or Melissa Rausch if you have an idea and would like to host an experience for the spring fundraiser.
Find below a helpful Experiences 101 link as well as the Whittier PTA Fundraising Guidelines.

6. Yorktown “School Bucks Program”
Please support our schools together by participating in the Yorktown School Bucks Program!!
January 1: Double points All Stores
January 1-31: Visit our fitness studios for Triple Points on any purchases all month long!
January 13 – 15: Double points. All stores and restaurants.
January 21 – 27: Shop Amazing Lash Studio for triple points!
HOW IT WORKS:
After shopping and dining at Yorktown, your school’s family and friends can show their Yorktown Center receipts at the Guest Services desk (located on the Lower Level, below The Eatery and near Von Maur) to accumulate points. Shoppers must specify which participating school to allocate the points to.
Show your movie ticket receipts from AMC 18 Yorktown for an easy (and fun!) 75 points per ticket!
Thank you for shopping and giving back to our PTA!
Receipts must be redeemed within 60 days of purchase date. Receipts will be collected from August 1, 2017 until May 1, 2018.
For Whittier to receive a monetary reward, we need to provide $2,000 in receipts by May 1, 2018.
