It is hard to believe that the 2014-2015 school year is behind us. What a wonderful and successful year it has been for our students, our faculty and our PTA. Thank you to all that have volunteered their time this past year and a special thanks to Rita Brezina and Valerie Hardy for leading us this past year. Your dedication, commitment and service are greatly appreciated. Wishing the entire Whittier community an enjoyable summer. If you need to reach us over the summer please do not hesitate to do so.

Thank you to the families who completed their PTA packets online already. If you registered for PTA membership and completed your online packet by June 1st, you were entered into a raffle. Using a random-number generator online, two winning families were selected. Congratulations to the Oestermeyer family who won a $50 gift certificate to Wok ‘n Fire restaurant and to the Travers family who won a $25 gift certificate to Wok ‘n Fire. Winners will receive their gift certificates before the end of the school year.
It isn’t too late to join the PTA for the 2015-2016 year. Please visit www.whittierschoolpta.org/join to complete your online PTA packet between now and the start of the school year. Do note that room parents will be identified before the start of the year, however, based off of individual interest expressed within the PTA packets.
Attention parents – Health Examination Reminder
Coming Soon…..Online Fun Lunch Ordering!! We hope to have the site up and running by August 1st. Ordering your child’s fun lunch will be easier than ever now. No more filling out paper forms and then having to remember to turn it in. Forget what vendor it will be or forget what you ordered?? Don’t worry, you can easily pull it up on the site at any time.
We will send out a special notice this summer as soon as it is up and running and you can place orders.
This summer the Playground Committee is hitting the streets for community support.
Volunteers are needed to:
o Help sell candy at booths and community events
o Distribute information to the community
o Reach out to corporations for sponsorship opportunities

One more chance to get in on what is sure to be a fun evening, for adults only. The Toga Party – August 28th at 7:30 pm. Cost is $30 per participant. All funds raised through spring and summer experiences go toward the primary playground project.
