Last Call!

The slate for the 2015-2016 PTA executive committee will be announced at this month’s PTA meeting.  If you would like to nominate someone for the co-vice president/president-elect positions, please contact any of the following members of the nominating committee: Rita Brezina, Debbie Dobrez, Valerie Hardy, or Jen Mielke.

Jaguar Jog:

A tentative date has been set for the 2015 Jaguar Jog: September 20th.  However, while a date has been reserved with the village, we’re still in need of chairs for the event!  If you’d like to see the Jaguar Jog tradition continue and might be interested in co-chairing the event, please contact Rita Brezina or Valerie Hardy.

Spring Fundraiser:

Much more specific information to follow, but we would be remiss if we didn’t acknowledge the hours of planning the event chairs Carrie Grebel and Michelle Aleksiunas  – along with the rest of the spring fundraiser committee – have been putting in to prepare for the March 20th “LP4P” event.  The evening is sure to be chockfull of fun, great prizes, and exciting experience sign-ups.  We hope to see you all there!

Illinois Vision 20/20 Presentation:

Attached is a flyer with information about the upcoming Illinois Vision 20/20 presentation, which will be held this Thursday in Villa Park and is sponsored by the DuPage East PTA Region. This event is open to all parents.  Some proposed discussion topics are: the two current education funding proposals, Senate Bill 1 (which replaces SB 16) and Senate Bill 1403; PARCC exams and other possible assessment models; and the differentiated accountability model proposed in Vision 20/20.

  • March 24 @ 7:00 p.m. at Whittier (Jaguar Jungle) – Monthly PTA General Membership Meeting

LP4P Auction Items: Sneak Peak

LP4P Pre-Order Form and Credit Card Authorization forms are heading home in your youngest Whittier child’s backpack this week!  Can’t wait?  Open the attachment here LP4P booklet  to see all the great silent auction and basket raffle packages!   – Pre-Order your tickets by March 18th and save valuable time the night of the event.  Your tickets will be ready and waiting for you!  The Credit Card Authorization will make purchases a snap!  We will keep track for you!

Spring Fundraiser “Let’s Play for the Playground”

Spring Fundraiser “Let’s Play for the Playground” is 2 weeks away.  Are you getting excited?!

You can still turn in your registration form. You can also pay at the door the night of the event, March 20th, for $30/per person.

Just a reminder, this is an adult only event. Be prepared to have fun, fun, fun!

Chess Scholars Spring Sign Up Is Here!

Please see attached electronic flyer.  The paper copies will be coming home with all students at the end of the week or possibly the beginning of next week.  You can print out the flyer and send it in now!

As a reminder, the current session of Chess Club will be holding a make up session for the February 1st snow day on Monday, March 23rd at 3:00.  This date will be our last chess club of the winter session.
